Gamal Helal
Gamal Helal (born March 22, 1954) is an Egyptian-American interpreter and diplomat who has translated for several American presidents and Secretaries of State. ==Early life== Helal, a Coptic Christian was born in Asyut, Egypt in 1954 and went on to study at Assiut University, where he earned a B.A.〔 When he was 21 years of age, Helal left Egypt for the United States; studying at Vermont's School for International Training, he received an M.A. in cross-culture communication.〔 In 1983 Helal officially became a U.S. citizen.
